School Orientation Volunteers

  • School orientations are held at the beginning of our parents workshops.
  • Volunteers assist in obtaining information and welcoming parents.
  • Orientations take place in the morning (usually 8:30am or 9:00am) or in the evening (usually 6:00pm).

School Graduation Volunteers

  • School graduations take place at the end of our parents workshops.
  • Volunteers assist in welcoming and signing in parents to their graduation as well as assisting during the potluck celebration.
  • Graduations take place in the evening (usually 6pm).

Parents As Leaders (PAL) Graduation Volunteers

  • PAL graduation takes place in May at the end of the 32-week parent workshops.
  • Volunteers assist in setting up for the ceremony, welcome parents from multiple schools to their graduation, check in parents, help with childcare, and assist during the potluck celebration.
  • The PAL graduation usually takes place on a Saturday in the afternoon.

Community Health Volunteers

Whether you are a nurse, a student, a chef or parent, you can volunteer with our community health programs 365 days a year. By volunteering with The Concilio’s community health programs, you will experience programs that have improved the health and well-being of many families. There are many different ways to support The Concilio’s community health programs.

  • Teach a health education class
  • Become certified to assist families with insurance applications and enrollment.
  • Impact the lives of children as a childcare volunteer.
  • Keep us organized by assisting with data entry.
  • Help staff a booth at a health fair.
  • Apply to become a Community Health Intern.

¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!®

In partnership with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health, ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!® is the nation's largest Hispanic family physical activity event series with events in 10 cities. The event offers an excellent opportunity for low-income, underinsured and uninsured families to receive free health screenings and essential health education.

Volunteers are needed to assist with event set up, registration, cooking demonstrations, health screenings, booths, and much more. If you or your organization is interested in volunteering, please contact ltudon@theconcilio.org or 214-818-0481.


Big Dreams Volunteers

  • Our annual event celebration takes place once a year during the fall semester.
  • Volunteers assist in checking in guests, at the wine pull or silent auction, and in any other manner that assistance may be needed.
  • Volunteering for this event allows you to get in for free to the event.

  • Volunteer assistance is needed sporadically throughout the year.
  • Volunteers can help by folding papers, stuffing envelopes, and helping us put together promotional pieces that may be needed during the year.
