Honoring Culture, Heritage, and Big Dreams. The 2025 Big Dreams Gala will celebrate the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)—a vibrant and meaningful holiday that honors loved ones who have passed while celebrating life, culture, and heritage.
WHAT IS DIA DE LOS MUERTOS?
Día de los Muertos is a Mexican tradition celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, where families create ofrendas (altars) adorned with marigolds, candles, photos, and meaningful items to remember and honor their ancestors. Unlike a day of mourning, it is a joyful celebration filled with music, food, and colorful decorations that reflect the continuity of life and the strength of family bonds.
For this year’s Big Dreams Artist Contest, we invite artists to capture the essence of Día de los Muertos through elements such as:
