DALLAS, TX – The Concilio welcomed more than 150 leaders, changemakers, and community members to the Latino Cultural Center on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, for the fourth annual The Concilio Summit: Beyond the Numbers. This year’s gathering highlighted the intersection of academic and economic outcomes, underscoring how family dynamics, access to opportunity, and community support shape long-term progress in North Texas.
The event opened with a powerful live monologue performance by Puerto Rican actress Cynthia Santiago, who drew on lived experiences to connect community data with human stories, setting the tone for an afternoon of dialogue and collaboration.
A centerpiece of the Summit was the reveal of the 2025 State of Latinos Report, a narrative-driven study that pairs comprehensive data with the journey of one North Texas family. The report illustrates challenges faced by Latino families while also spotlighting opportunities for shared solutions that benefit the broader community.
“This Summit showed us what happens when data meets humanity. We did not just present statistics, we shared stories that put a face and a voice to the numbers. That combination is what will drive solutions in North Texas,” said Florencia Velasco Fortner, president & CEO of The Concilio.
The 2025 State of Latinos Report invited attendees to look beyond statistics and focus on the lived realities of families in North Texas. “This report is a reminder that numbers alone do not tell the full story,” said Adriana de Urquidi, vice president of the Latino Strategy Institute at The Concilio. “When we highlight how opportunities and barriers play out in everyday life, we gain a clearer picture of what it will take to create pathways where Latino families and our entire community can move forward together.”
In addition to the report launch, the program featured interactive group exercises and a networking happy hour that brought leaders and partners together to build stronger connections.
The Concilio Summit: Beyond the Numbers was made possible by presenting sponsor Charles Schwab Bank, speaker sponsors Baylor Scott & White Health and American National Bank of Texas, and happy hour sponsor ISP Creative, along with other community partners committed to advancing opportunity in North Texas.
The conversations do not end with the Summit. The 2025 State of Latinos Report is now available for download, offering insights and lived experiences that can guide ongoing dialogue and inspire action. The full report is available at theconcilio.org/summit.
